Leonardo Maranhão
CEO, Gemologist and Expert Appraiser
Leonardo Maranhão, the CEO of Labgems, is a distinguished gemologist and expert appraiser. His journey with Labgems began in 2019, built on a solid foundation of decades of experience in the mining and gemstone appraisal sectors, gained from his tenure at The PADETEC Institute and the University of Fortaleza. His extensive industry connections have been instrumental in propelling Labgems to its current position as a leading firm in the gemstone valuation and appraisal industry. Mr. Maranhão is a certified gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and a respected member of the Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals (IBGM). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance from the University of Fortaleza.
Hammed Osmony
Gemologist and Expert Appraiser
Hammed Osmony, a gemologist and expert appraiser at Labgems, brings a wealth of experience from his 15-year career in the gemstone industry. Born in Afghanistan and now a proud U.S. citizen and former Marine, Mr. Osmony's expertise is enriched by his work with mining companies in Afghanistan's Panjshit Valley, a globally recognized source of high-quality emeralds. He is a GIA-certified gemologist and a member of both the GIA Alumni and the IBGM.
Mary Elizabeth Dunn
Mary Elizabeth Dunn, a gemologist and expert appraiser at Labgems, has a diverse professional background. Prior to joining Labgems, she spent several years in the hotel and viticulture industries. Her collaboration with Mr. Maranhão began at GIA in 2019, where she leveraged her experience as a private investor and gemstone collector of over two decades. Mrs. Dunn is a GIA-certified gemologist and a member of both the GIA Alumni and the IBGM.
Helen Rodrigues
Helen Rodrigues serves as a gemologist assistant and mining source expert at Labgems. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Her extensive experience in Brazil's jewelry industry has been invaluable to Labgems. Ms. Rodrigues is a certified member of the IBGM.
Roberto Addario
Roberto Addario, the Mining Department Director at Labgems, is a globally recognized gemstone cut-master. His illustrious career spans over 50 years in the gemstone industry, beginning in Los Angeles and later transitioning to Brazil. Mr. Addario's expertise lies in rough gemstones, and he has worked extensively in some of the largest tourmaline mines in Brazil's Paraiba region.
Cynthia Pinheiro
Cynthia Pinheiro, the Finance Manager at Labgems, holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Fortaleza. She oversees all aspects of LabGem's gemstone delivery processes and manages the financial department. Her responsibilities include meticulous inventory control, ensuring the highest level of accuracy at every control point.
Ernesto Eduardo
Ernesto Eduardo, a key figure in Labgems' Legal Department, is a law graduate from Faculdade do Nordeste. His extensive experience with mining companies has given him a deep understanding of the intricacies of the legal mining process. Mr. Eduardo ensures that Labgems and their clients operate within the legal framework, providing due diligence, legal sustainability, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) services.
Marta Graca
Marta Graca, the Accounting Director at Labgems, holds a Bachelor´s degree in Accounting from FGF University and an MBA in Taxation and Finance. She works in close collaboration with Mr. Eduardo to handlecompliance matters across all clients and suppliers, ensuring the financial integrity and transparency of Labgems operations.
